AFLCJ Presentation Night 2015


AFL Cairns Junior Presentation Night for 2015 was held recently and the Hawks were represented in all competitive grades.

Cairns Hawks Gold U13 coach Campbell Addison was awarded Youth Coach of the year after his side finished the season on top of the Gold Coast Suns Division Ladder.

Alex Davies of Cairns Hawks Brown U13 won the King Watson Medal for the Brisbane Lions Division with an outstanding 30 votes. Alex also joined his teammates who were presented to the crowd before their upcoming Grand Final against South Cairns Cutters White.

The Cairns Hawks U15 side was next to be acknowledged ahead of their Grand Final clash with AFL Cape York House Eagles. The stage is set for a thrilling game with both sides full of talent.

The Manunda Hawks Youth Girls were also front of stage before their first official Grand Final after winning the Round Robin format last year. They will take on Cairns City Lions. Sisters Nancy and Kiara Matthew were standouts and finished second and third respectively in the race for the Youth Girls Best and Fairest.

Manunda Hawks Colt Niall Gee earnd the McDonalds Umpire/Player of the Year after an oustanding year with and without the whistle which included officiating at the School Sport Australia underage championships in Geelong. As a player, Niall represented the U16 Cairns Lions at the QLD Country Championships and was also involved with the U17 Lions squads.
